After the case « Ryan Air », the « Sixtine » case.
We all remember the advertising of Ryan Air showing the French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni thinking: « With Ryan Air, my whole family can come to my wedding ». It was nothing compared to what has made a famous company of car rental. It has posted a video showing a man dressed in a dark suit, looking and speaking like Nicolas Sarkozy. The video starts with a sentence writen to introduce the man: « Anonymous, 53 years old, Paris ». During 1′35 minute, the character acknowledges having problems with masculinity and extols the benefits of a pill called the “Sixtine”! The video, available on youtube and dailymotion is a huge succes ! We can see that railing Nicolas Sarkozy becomes a national sport game in France !
The backlash.
After saying during his marital troubles with his ex-wife Cécilia that he swore to let his private life away from the cameras, the President hasn’t kept his promise again in orchestrating his romance with his new wife Carla Bruni. The machine communication he held with a master’s hand seems to have seized and he’s paying the price now. His fall in the polls attests it. According to the poll agency OpnionWay this morning, 82% of French people think that the behaviour of the President Nicolas Sarkozy regarding his private life do not corresponds to the idea they have of a President. The overdose of presidential images stifles the French who prefer after 9 months of his mandate the discreet prime minister Francois Fillon. This disgrace should greatly annoy the French President who is very concerned about its public image. Nicolas Sarkozy is now relegated to the category “pepole” in the magazines. Never before a President of the Republic had fallen so low.
Sms, advertisings …
After the history of the SMS, the advertisings of Ryan Air and Sixt, we are entitled to ask us how will be the future. The idea of Nicolas Sarkozy to occupy the space in the media was « One fact a day ». It seems that he has been overtaken by the events and now he can’t no longer controls his own image. In some countries the President is portrayed as a teenager still hanging from his cell phone. The various European countries don’t like his behaviour and depict him as a man who always said to be the best. As the « Messiah ». It was the case for the release of the Bulgarian nurses ! A style of governance which is not accepted anymore by the million of French. Even the members of the UMP party ( the party of the President) didn’t want him to come to support them in their cities for the locals elections ! It’s time for Nicolas Sarkozy to change and to adopt a real style of « President of the Republic » : more humble, less arrogant, more concerned about the expectations of the French than the way of showing his private life. France doesn’t want a President « Bling-bling ». France is starting to regret his former President even if this one was a little too “grandfather”.
